Injured at work? Find NYS WCB Authorized Physicians specializing in ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY that treat work-related accidents and illness.
Anatomic Pathology is the study of the tissues, organs, and potential tumors in the body. It concentrates on treating and diagnosing disease.
Generally, this type of medicine uses a “molecular” examination, which means examining a piece of the body on a microscopic, cellular level. Tissues are inspected in a lab and are usually collected as specimens. This can include tissues such as skin or samples of an organ.
Some levels that are determined by anatomic pathology are blood cell counts, urinalysis, blood glucose, and hematology. Anatomic pathology often works alongside clinical pathology to diagnose diseases.
